KC Sharrows

Sharrows (share-arrows) are a good thing for KC! We need more. I wonder why we don't see more bright colors in regards to street marking? See article here:http://kcbike.info/2010/11/02/north-kansas-city-installing-metros-first-sharrows-today/

UPDATE

Smore’s Update: 2011 looks to be a great year for the Smore’s Granting activities. I am currently working on building a new cart, and planning the first awards event, where we honor a local artist with cash we made last year. Hold on tight as this project develops! If you would like the S’mores Cart providing s’mores at your event, contact me at smoresgrant@gmail.com or 913 406 807

Austin, Texas creative food vending

Austin Street Food Culture

While in Austin over the holidays I saw many unique street trailers. Most were small mobile trailers parked in groups in lots with street access and high visibility. I’m impressed by the variety of creative food ideas, colorful design, and overall abundance of good, fast food options creative Austinites provide. What kind of creative entrepreneur is interested in a low-overhead business like these? What makes a community support a street food environment that is local, diverse and eclectic? How do we describe the quality of a feeling of originality in regards to local businesses? Are unique and local food vendors valuable to a community?

How would food vendors like these contribute to Kansas City?
